What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms & Email

You may provide us information when you submit a website contact form. Customers that email us, or use any of the contact forms on our websites, will have their email address and any data provided in the contact form or body of the email, time and date of message, any IP addresses assigned to them at the time of submitting the contact form and the user agent strings of the browsers they used stored in our website database and in our email. We use Google/G Suite to process all internal email and communication with our customers. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We keep analytics and the web server logs that record information about a visitor to our  website, such as the visitor’s IP address, browser type, and operating system indefinitely. We retain the logs for this period of time in order to, among other things, analyze traffic to our website and investigate issues if something goes wrong on the website.

Any Email correspondence is kept indefinitely as a history of our service and communications with your to enhance our customer service to you.

Contact form submissions can be stored in our website database for up to 6 months, however, often removed within 60 days.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.
